What are Developmental Disabilities?

 

Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavioral areas. About one in six children in the U.S. have one or more developmental disabilities or other developmental delays. Wilhouse Living Solutions contracts with the State of Arizona’s Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) to provide support for individuals diagnosed with one of the following developmental disabilities:

  • Autism

  • Cerebral palsy

  • Epilepsy

  • Cognitive / Intellectual Disability

  • Are under the age of six and at risk of having a Developmental Disability

DDD serves more than 40,000 people with developmental disabilities and their families throughout the State each year. To receive services, the first step is to visit the Division’s Website and review the qualifying criteria. The next step is to complete an application to determine eligibility.
